  • Chemo Day

So, I survived Chemo day.  They give me a lot of drugs at treatment, so the evening went OK.  I wasn't even tired after taking my anti-anxiety drugs.

Today, I'm a bit weepy over nothing.  Or everything.  My biggest aggravation right now is that our Christmas tree is still up.  But Paul and my cousin, Sarah, are packing it all away right now, so I'll feel better by tonight.  I know that life has gotten crazy for everyone, but I just get mad at Paul every time I see the tree.  I asked him to take it down while I was in the hospital, and it didn't happen.  Oh well.

My cousin, Sarah, flew in yesterday and was here with me while I had chemo.  It was good to have her there.  I was more than a little nervous about having chemo at all due to the crash.  Sarah is a nurse, so she knows what to watch for, and I'm going to go today after radiation to have some extra fluids.  So I'm not going to crash this weekend.  Actually, although they keep referring to my health as "fragile," I know that I am much stronger than when I had chemo 2 weeks before.

And we're going to be keeping a very close eye on my appetite (though with the feeding tube it doesn't matter as much), and I'm promising to keep my water intake high.

I am not going to crash.

And I only have 7 more radiation treatments.  WOOHOO!  They're stronger, so they may take more out of me, butg there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Speaking of radiation, I have to get a shower so that I can go.  So you guys have a great weekend.  Don't worry if I don't check in.  It'll be because I'm trying to have fun.

    And GO BEARS!!!!
